Obituary

Anderson, Marlene

Marlene Anderson died peacefully surrounded by family, in the early hours of Saturday, June 4th, at the age of 89. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Charlotte (Smith) Deschamps, her siblings, her first husband Donald Anderson and her second husband Peter Plaunt, son Vincent Anderson and granddaughter Karen Anderson. Survived by her beloved children Richard (Heather) Deschamps and Suzan (Gerald) Giles, 6 loving grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marlene enjoyed a wide range of jobs over the years including a position as floor manager at Blue Bell, a restauranteur, and small business owner, as well as volunteering as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and being a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 192, Capt. A. Roy Brown Branch, Carleton Place.

Marlene enjoyed meeting people and made friends wherever she went.  She loved to travel, cook, bake, knit, play games and cards, listen to music and dance. She made many special and lasting friendships over the years doing the things she loved.

She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother; she put family ahead of all else and was generous with her time and affections.  Nothing brought her more joy than having her family gathered around her.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

A funeral service will take place at Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the chapel with a reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 192. Capt. A. Roy Brown Branch, Carleton Place.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 192, A Roy Brown Branch, Carleton Place would be appreciated by the family.
