Mary Kincade Obituary

Kincade, Mary Elizabeth

It is with profound sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth Kincade, (nee Lawrance Bell), of Carleton Place, Ontario, following a courageous battle with illness, announces her peaceful passing at Stoneridge Manor, Carleton Place, on May 13, 2023. Mary was 99. Mary was predeceased by her long-time soulmate, Douglas Earl Kincade in 1998.

Born in Halifax on February 24th, 1924, Mary guided and nurtured six children while balancing an active life on various military facilities - including Foymount, Ontario, Moisie, Quebec, and St. Margarets, New Brunswick - supporting Doug's military career. Mary worked successfully for various companies, including the Iron Ore Company in Sept-iles, Quebec. Her most cherished accomplishment was receiving the "Order of the Mushroom" for her work as communications supervisor for the Norad Sage complex, situated a mile underground at Mary and Doug's final career move to North Bay.

Mary is survived by six children, Larry (Nancy), Gary (Darryl), Steve (Monique), Mark (Janet), Linda (Garry), Scott (Laurie), and a sister, Nancy, who resides in Halifax. Mary is also survived by five grandchildren, Jonathan (Alison), Jessica (Bryan), Rhonda (Doug), Stephen and David (Jessica), and six great grandchildren, Josephine and Iris, Owen and Emily, Paisley and Parker.

A "Toast to Mary" will be held on May 19th, 2023 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Captain A. Roy Brown, Legion Branch 192, 177 George Street, Carleton Place.
