Mary Margaret MacVicar (Moran)
In loving memory of Mary Margaret MacVicar (Moran), age 83, who passed away July 16, 2025 after suffering horribly with dementia. Predeceased by her husband Malcolm James MacVicar (Mac) and her son Randy Thomas MacVicar.
Mary was a kind and caring person and connected with everyone she met, she will be remembered for her sense of humour, the courage to always speak her mind and the loyalty she had for her family, Mary’s love for travel took her on many adventures.
Born on June 1st 1942, she grew up in Ottawa, then moving out to Richmond to raise her family. Mary is survived by her sister Gwen Peters, her daughters Debbie, Heather (James), her sons Jim and Colin, her grandchildren Kristy Crawford (Paul), Cody Harvey (Jessica), Zeth and Morgan MacVicar-Warner as well as her great-grandchildren, Braden, Hailey, Carson, Charlotte and Cooper. She dedicated herself to her family, always putting their needs above her own.
A celebration of life will be held at the Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place to honour her memory on Wednesday, July 30th from 6 to 8 pm with a service in the chapel on Thursday, July 31st at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers the family ask to please make a donation to the Dementia Society of Ottawa.
