Melvin Chase

With profound sadness we say goodbye to a humble and kind man, Melvin David Chase, who passed away peacefully in his sleep with his twin sister and wife by his side, on Friday, August 22, 2025.  

He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife, dance partner and best friend, DeeDee Scissons. Proud step-father of Emily (Jamie Reid), Carter (Alicia Kerr) and Shenell (Chris Goussis) Hollington. Loving Popa to grandchildren, Austin and Dawson & Elsie and Rosie, Leo & Xavier and his little chihuahua, Mary. Mel will also be missed by his father-in-law and friend Leo Scissons.  Mel is predeceased by his parents Effie (Stanzel) and Reginald Chase and his siblings Margaret and Herbert. He is survived by his sisters Maisie Joyner, Doreen Joyner, Freda Sweetman and his twin sister Marilyn Chase-White. 

Even with an ocean between the twins, their bond has never drifted. Mel also leaves behind three generations of nieces and nephews. 

After 35 years in the business, Mel's expertise in watch and clock repair will be missed throughout the valley. 

A private gathering will be held for the family.
