Churchill, Michael Harold
Mike passed peacefully at the Carleton Place Hospital in the early hours of June 14, 2024. He was born in Carleton Place on January 9, 1957 to Dayle and Harold Churchill, both of whom have predeceased him.
From an early age, Mike loved science fiction, classic cars, motorcycles and NASCAR. He was a brilliant computer programmer and travelled extensively for his job, often returning with creative and quirky presents. His interest in electronics led to the development of some interesting inventions.
Unfortunately, Mike’s health declined drastically and relentlessly over the past few decades. He remained feisty (like his mom) and kept that dry and gentle sense of humour.
Mike is survived by his aunt, Betty Lou Hyatt and by his cousins. He will greatly missed by his friends, Ken Daigle and Kim Coles.
Thank you for your care and support, especially as his health declined. Thank you to Dr. Spooner and to the nursing and support staff at the Carleton Place Hospital for their compassionate and dignified end of care life.
Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be held at the St. James Cemetery on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
In Mike’s memory, give a hug or a smile to someone who is struggling.
Rest well, Mike.
