Norman passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Lillian Stroud for 76 years. Father to Elaine, Eldon (Sandra), Rene (Cathy), Laurie (Carmen), Mark, Margaret (Gerry), Norma, Ron, Stephen (Lois). Proud loving grandfather to 25 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

He is survived by Percy (late Lilias), Patricia (late Don), Brownlee, Rayburn (Wilma), June (Bob Stewart), and McDermid. Predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Mary, brothers Vernon (late Mae), Ron (late Ethel), Eric (late Eleanor), sister Rose (late Frank) Greer. Granddaughters Carla and Fiona and grandson Ben.

Norman served in World War 2 as a Private with the Hastings Prince Edward Regiment (The Hasty P’s). Serving his country took him to Italy, France, Poland, Holland and Germany. When he returned, he met and married the love of his life, and spent the majority of his life in Folger. To him, there was no better place on earth.

His sense of humor and dry wit will be missed by many. His legacy will live on in his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Norman’s Life will be held at the Lanark Civitan (2144 Pine Grove Road, Lanark) on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 1 – 4 p.m.
