A Life Well Lived

Regina Duma (formerly of Romania) passed away peacefully in the afternoon of Saturday April 22, 2023 at age 92. Mama Regina lived her life in Romania with her husband Teodor for over 40 years. After his passing Mama moved to Canada to live with her only daughter Veronica Duma and her husband Marcel Lang.

Mama talked often about her life with her husband in Romania. It wasn’t easy being farmers but strong even then, she maintained that “they never argue” “never!” Strong to the end, Mama Regina fought Dementia but maintained her family memories including a special visit from her only grandson Christian this past winter. She had many proud memories of him including her days caring for Christian in Romania when he was a young child. She was a strong and stubborn role model for her beloved daughter Veronica and she was grateful to share a home with her son in law Marcel who she thought could do no wrong. Mama is remembered with a smile by many family and friends who had the chance to meet her often at their home. She will also be remembered by many cousins and friends in Romania.

Special Thanks to the staff of Greystone (Bruyere) and the staff, Doctors and nurses and the Ottawa General. Although she spoke no English , all these amazing caregivers gave her the best possible attention.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 12 noon at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home Chapel, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, Ontario. Interment to follow at United Cemeteries, Carleton Place.
