Roger Gordon Hugh Lemond
July 21, 1940 – March 31, 2025
Passed peacefully surrounded by his family at the Carleton Place Terrace. Survived by his wife Vera (Wilson) of over 62 years. Dear father of Lana (Don St. John), Mary, Dawn (John Redmond) and Chuck (Angela). Dear Papa of Jaimie (Rick Todd), Matthew, Dan (Shannon) and three great-grandchildren Seamus, Arthur, and Anna Lois. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Betty (Dale), his niece Debbie (Pete), and great-niece Matilda. He is also survived by his two step-grandchildren Bailey (Ian) and Austin (Emma). He will be deeply missed by his many brother- and sister-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was a quiet and private man, stately in stature and often referred to as “the big oak tree” by his family, especially his sister-in-law Margit Wilson. This oak tree will forever grow in our hearts.
The family wants to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to the Saint Elizabeth Home Care nurse Brooke Guthrie for 17 months of wonderful and compassionate care for our Dad. Thank you to The Terrace for providing Dad with excellent care in his final months, it became his home.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the University of Ottawa’s Heart Institute in Dad’s memory.
