Ronald “Ron” DeBaie

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald “Ron” DeBaie, who passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, surrounded by his loved ones.

Ron was predeceased by his beloved daughter Cynthia.

He will be deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by his wife Martha; his son Jamie and daughter-in-law Chantal; his cherished grandchildren Jamie Jr., Keaton, and Eva; his sister-in-law Mona; his step-grandchildren Sara and Adam; and by all those who knew and loved him.

Ron spent most of his working life as a project manager and took great pride in his work. In recent years, he found joy in driving a school bus for Premier Bus Lines, where he appreciated the people and connections he made along the way.

Above all else, Ron treasured his role as a father and grandfather. He often said that his greatest joy in life was his family, and he gave them his whole heart every day. His kindness, dedication, sense of humour, and unwavering love will be remembered always.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 28 Hawthorne Avenue, Carleton Place on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 10 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Inurnment to follow at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery. Reception will be held in the Parish Hall.

In Ron’s memory, and in lieu of flowers, donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be greatly appreciated by the family.
