It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Russell Eugene Baird, who peacefully passed away at Stoneridge Manor, Carleton Place, Ontario on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Russell was 89 years old and the cherished son of the late Eugene and Mary (McGee) Baird. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Claire. Russell was a proud and loving father to Lynn (Doug) Gemmill. He is also survived by sisters-in-laws Lorna (late Ken) Burns and Lillian (late Ellwood) Baird, as well as by many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by brothers Ken (Elaine), Eric (Liz), and his sisters Helen (Mel) Craig and Elaine (Frank) Bayliss. Russell will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Visitation will be held at Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, Ontario on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. A service will follow in the chapel at 12:00 noon, with interment to take place at Hopetown Cemetery.
