Ruth Duncan (DiStaulo)
July 19, 1931 – September 17, 2023
Ruth Duncan (nee DiStaulo), a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 92 in Carleton Place, ON. She was predeceased by her husband, Edmond George Duncan. Ruth is survived by her three children, Caroline Pollock (Terry Julian), Richard Duncan (Elizabeth Van Brenen Duncan), and Robert Duncan. She will be fondly remembered by all of her grandchildren, Lorraine, Roger, Andrea, Erin, Kyle, Katrina, Adam, and Alesha, and great-grandchildren, Sofia, Isabella, Travis, Cody, Jeremy, Tyson, Logan, and Arija.
Ruth was born in Montreal, Quebec, to Italian immigrants and was the youngest of seven children. She became a military wife at the young age of 19 and moved frequently until their retirement in Barrie, Ontario.
Ruth was the matriarch of her family, and her language of love was food. She was a fantastic cook, and her kitchen was always emitting heavenly smells of Sunday sauce, fresh pasta, lasagna, and other Italian delicacies. It was not uncommon to see an extra table setting or two, or three, as there were always friends and family vying for a spot at the table.
Ruth will be sadly missed by many friends and family. Ruth was a true believer and has passed
on to the glory of God.
