Ruth Jones Obituary

Ruth Jones

It is, with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.  At her home of over 63 years in Ashton. Ruth Jones was born in Franktown Ontario, on the 6th day of February 1943. She was the beloved wife of the late Lorne Jones for 44 adventure and laugh filled years.

Loving mother to Randy (Colleen) and Lee (Melanie).  proud Nanny to Patrick (Tanisha),  Ryan, Raegen and Connor, great grandmother to Henry. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Harry and Elsie (Kelford) Burns. Much loved sister to Audrey (Dale),the late Dorothy and (Donald), the late Bill and  (Betty), Alice, Allan (the late Sandra), the late Raymond and (Anne), the late Lorraine, Gordon (Norma) the late David and (Linda) the late Howard (Shelley). She will be dearly missed my many nieces and nephews. Many fond memories were made with brother and sister in law Sterling and Ilse Jones. Ruth will be greatly missed by special friend Pat Purdy with whom she found a cherished companion in her later years.

Ruth could often be found in the wee hours of the morning filling her latest pie quotas for her beloved Christ Church Ashton, and family and friends alike.

She  took great pride in keeping her home and gardens pristine and welcoming. Her seamstress skills often found a line forming at the door in helping dress and keep the greater Ashton area looking fine.

Friends may call at the Alan R. Barker Funeral home and Chapel, 19 McArthur Ave., Carleton Place Ontario from 6-8 on Thursday June 26, and 10-1130 on Friday June 27. Funeral service to follow at Christ Church Ashton at 12 noon. There will be a reception in the Church hall following the service for Ruth.

For those wishing to honour Ruth's life with a donation, please consider Christ Church Ashton.

"A life well lived, a woman well loved."
