Gardiner, Shirley Marion
1927-2024
Shirley/Mom/Grandma/Great-Grandma was so special to everyone who knew and loved her. Shirley Marion Gardiner (nee Lowe). Passed away peacefully at Carleton Place Hospital on November 4th, 2024 at the age of 97. Loving wife to Allan Gardiner for 76 years.
Dear mother of Edward (deceased) (Leigh), Gwen (Bob Perkins), Rodger (Holley), Lorelei (David Brunton), Rob (Tammy). Loving Grandmother to Shana (Jason), Chad, Jason (Carrie), Jennifer (Cameron), Casey (Beverley), Ainsley (Kyle), Kelsey (James), Kayla (Chris), Kendra (Ilija), Kyle (Jessica), Cameron. As well as 17 great grandchildren; Isabella, Kaitlyn, Ben, Cole, Hayden, Finley, Vivien, Gordon, Stanley, Lily, Maya, Ezri, Aria, Zeke, Calvin, Hayden, Hallie. Predeceased by her son Edward and grandson Scott Brunton.
Shirley had a wonderful life, her love of the outdoors began with growing up on a farm in Appleton, camping, snowmobiling and living by the river in Innisville. She was very active in the community and belonged to several organizations such as the Curling Club, Squared Dance Club, was the founding member of the Innisville Community Spirits Group, and in more recent years enjoyed time with her Red Hat friends and the Sophisticats. She worked alongside Allan to run the office of Gardiner Electric all while running a busy household of 5 children.
Her family are thankful for the compassionate care she received from the staff of Carleton Place Terrace and the staff at Carleton Place Hospital and Dr. Buckley.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday November 9, 2024 from 12:30pm until time of service in the chapel at 1:30pm at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place.
