McDiarmid (nee Ellis), Shirley Margaret

Passed away peacefully at the age of 85 in the General Hospital surrounded by family. Predeceased by her husband of 67 years Douglas (2015), son Wayne (2020) and daughter-in-law Marie (2020), and by her parents Harold & Iva Ellis. Also predeceased by sisters Elizabeth, Alberta, Leatrice, Zelma, Beverly and brothers Wesley, Harold (Alvie), Floyd, Mervin, Charles and Fraser.
Beloved mother of Rosemary (Stephen) Wark, Allen (Kelley), Keith (Melissa) and Kelvin. Cherished grandmother of Stephen Jr. (Amanda), Taunya (Luke), Shauna (Josh), Austin (Shyana), Troy (Christine), Katelyn (Ben), Jeremy, Sydney (Carter), Elyssa (Mike) and Chase (Amy). She will be sadly missed by great-grandchildren Gavin, Lilly, Kaliya, Ava, Axel, Milo, Jude, Hudson, Brynn, Sage, Gemma, Bentley and Jasper. She will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
There will be a visitation at Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Wednesday, September 20 at 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a graveside service following the visitation. Shirley will be interred at Dewars Cemetery on Glenashton Road at Dewer Side Road.
