Stefan (Steve) Anselm Jaeger
October 24 1945 - April 20 2022
It is with broken hearts that we announce Steve's passing on Wednesday, April 20 2022, leaving behind his soul-mate and adoring wife Nancy (Costello). Also, his two daughters Ute Fuhrmann and Lori Jaeger in B.C. As well, his stepchildren Angela Billing (Kelly) and Derek Purdy, who were more like his own children. Steve was Opa or Grampa Steve to four grandchildren, Ashley and Max Fuhrmann of B.C. and Jordan (Kaitlyn) and Sophie Billing. He is survived by his brother Peter Jaeger and predeceased by sister Christel and brother Eberhard (Kerstin). Steve was an electrical engineer who demanded perfection in his work, and travelled the world constantly. He and Nancy were lucky to have lived in Australia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand and then Alabama and Texas before retiring to Mississippi Lake in the summers and Florida in the winters. His health had declined in the past few years and he passed on his own terms, in his own house, with Nancy and Angie and Derek at his side, his little dachshund Rosie sleeping beside him.
Family and friends may call at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home at 19 McArthur Avenue in Carleton Place on Monday, April 25 2022 from 11 am to 1 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at 1 pm with a reception to follow at the Carleton Place Legion Branch 192.
Thank you so very much to the fantastic Bayshore nurses, to his physician Dr. Jamie Fullerton, who cares so much for all his patients, and to my daughter, Nurse Angie and my son, Derek, for their never-ending devotion and care for Steve. Safe journey my love – Ich Liebe Dich Mein Schatz.
Those who wish may consider a donation to the Carleton Place District Memorial Hospital Foundation in Steve’s memory.
