Thomas (Tom) Mustonen Lisi
Thomas (Tom) Mustonen Lisi, 84, passed away on February 15th, 2026 at his home in Lanark Highlands, Ontario.
Tom was born on February 19th, 1941 in Washington DC, to Thomas Lisi and Helvi Mustonen Lisi. Tom attended Gonzaga High School and Georgetown University (both in Washington DC). As he would often tell everyone, the best event of his life was meeting his wife, Elaine Schuetz, whom he married in 1975. Tom lived in the Washington area, New York and Taiwan, before moving to Ottawa in 1996, and then to Lanark Highlands in 2009. He loved living in Canada, and especially the natural beauty of the woods of his home.
Tom loved storytelling and playing games, loves that he shared with his family. Tom was known for his compassion and desire to help others, whether family, friend or stranger. He was a great problem solver, and could isolate the essential core of any problem he was given, whether technical or personal. He worked in software, as a teacher and as a writer, and was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
Tom is survived by his wife Elaine Schuetz, his sister Karen Aubrey, his sons Sam (Leah Tiisler) and Jim Lisi, his granddaughters Anne and Sarah Lisi, his niece Lynnea Gomez (Jesse) and his great-niece Lucia Gomez.
