W. David Argue
August 12, 1944 – July 20, 2025
David passed away peacefully at Carleton Place Terrace Retirement Home, at the age of 80 years. David is survived by his wife and love of his life, Marion (nee McCoy) with whom they were just 6 days shy of their 56th wedding anniversary. He was the proud father of Paul (Shelly), and Laurie (Damien Whittaker). He was a devoted Grandpa to Hayley & Stacy Argue and Alyssa & Kyle Whittaker. Son of the late Wilbert and Irene Argue (Massey).
David spent 30 years working at the Department of Agriculture Canada - Experimental Farm as a cattle herdsman and in poultry. Dave retired at the age of 50 years, and drove a school bus for 10 years. He was happily retired for more years than he actually worked. He loved camping, travelling, playing euchre, dancing, snowmobiling and having ice cream and hot chocolate. He always had a smile on his face and loved his family and friends dearly.
Family and friends may visit at Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Ave, Carleton Place, on Wednesday July 23, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday, July 24, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Burial at Stittsville United Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated.
