Werner Max Westphalen
In loving memory of our father, grandfather (Opa) and brother, Werner Max Westphalen, who passed away on February 6, 2024. He was the loving father of Ricky, James, Tammy and Matthew (daughter in law Jennifer), and Opa to Iliane, Annabelle, Isabella, Zachary and Devin. Life long friend of Suzanne Millette and brother to Ella, Olli, Emma, Anne and Hans. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born in Hitzhusen , Germany in 1933, Werner was the son of the late Arbeiter Heinrich Westphalen and late Martha Westphalen.
Werner worked as a barber for many years and finished his career as a Federal Government worker where he worked up to retirement.
His passion was spending time with his family, gardening, walks in the forest to observe birds and wildlife. Weekly get togethers to play board games or cards. Spending countless hours at arena’s or at the ball field, cheering us on or practicing with us. An abundance of memories on camping trips to Lac Simon, swimming, fishing, playing yard games, running down sand dunes and we can’t forget lots of rain! Trips to Germany, Dominican Republic, Walt Disney World, the Canadian Maritimes and Mexico to only name a few.
Werner loved playing Skat with his friends and attended many Skat tournaments. He earned many trophies and medals finishing in the top 3 on many occasions. He was also very passionate about bowling, soccer and Team Germany.
One of the kindest souls on this planet, our father was a gentle and giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.
Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to.
Father, you are now at peace but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much.
